The Geyer designed environment is human centered, supporting Westpac’s focus on people as a significant part of their advantage. The people first approach involved translating Westpac’s WorkSMART strategy into the physical workplace. Geyer undertook a time utilisation study to determine the appropriate level of activity based working for Westpac to adopt given the nature of work within the building. The resulting design strategy focused on intuitive space planning based on natural human behaviours. A pilot floor tested the recommended level of activity-based working and has been a key tool in the change management strategy for the adoption of WorkSMART.
